Featuring a wide input voltage range and integrated power MOSFETs, the AL8862 buck LED driver provides LED lighting driver circuit developers with a suitable solution to help save board space and reduce BoM costs with excellent analog and PWM dimming capabilities .

The AL8862 has a typical output current accuracy of 5% and 97% power at up to 1A, and can operate from an input voltage range of 5V to 60V, making it ideal for commercial, industrial or architectural lighting. Its small size allows it to be used in devices of all sizes.

External control pins can receive analog or PWM signals to add dimming functionality, which brings another new dimension to connected lighting, such as light mixing.

The integrated MOSFET is rated at 60V, making the AL8862 a viable solution for higher power output applications. Leveraging Diodes' proprietary technology, the MOSFETs also feature an ultra-low RDS(ON) of only 0.4Ω, exhibiting high efficiency while reducing the need for external parts. It also provides complete protection against possible fault conditions caused by a short or open circuit, and includes thermal protection.
